Demi Lovato's Bullying Story

Bathroom Mussiness

Students are faced with negative comments, even in the bathroom stalls. Students are challenged with reading the mean comments while using the restroom. School restrooms are student's resources when they are not feeling well, students should feel comfortable entering the bathroom. Students who want to hide their sorrow often take a walk to the restroom in hope to relieve their sadness, then return to their regular school day. It is difficult to read such harsh comments on the bathroom stalls that may effect their emotions. Verbal bullying surrounds our environment, it may be found anywhere. It may directed toward anyone.
Name calling may effects others well being, be careful with the use of your words and how they may make others feel. Verbal bullying can be anything about weight, appearance, racist, sexual or homophobic bullying.

White male brutally tortured

Disabled tortured young adult was kidnapped on early January year of 2017. Four black teens who kidnapped the white man streamed a live video about 30 minutes long on Facebook while torturing him. While on video the teens were influenced by drinking alcohol and smoking. They forced the disabled white male to drink toilet water and flicked cigarette ashes at him. The teens were caught on video, cutting his hair with a knife until he bled from his scalp, the teens made a joke out of this. Disabled man who was unable to help himself suffered through the torture while getting beat up and threatened. These teens created a hate crime against white people while picking on the white man. The victim was found wandering around Chicago the day of the incident, the victim was in an awful state of trauma. The police were able to identify the victim and rescue him from the streets. Chicago police arrested four teenagers for assaulting a mentally disabled young man.

Bullying can tare families apart

Being a victim of bullying may result in many behavioral changes that may easily increase difficulties at home. Victims of bullying tend to isolate themselves from their families and hold more secrets from their loved ones. Victims also tend to overreact to situations often with irritability which may create more arguments within the household. Victims may also use excuses to get out of going to school to avoid being bullied. Victims may say they are feeling ill to miss out on events that they are afraid of attending. Victims may also avoid family outings and doing things they used to enjoy because of social anxiety. Bullying makes families more overprotective, caring more about their children's safety. Bullying does not only affect the victim, it affects their families as well.

Demi Lovato's Symbolic Tattoos

Demi's first tattoo has a religious meaning to Demi, reminding her to have confidence because God made her beautiful.
The flock of birds surrounding her faith tattoo was her first large tattoo, the birds are a symbol of freedom. She later then realized the twelve birds represented the 12 step recovery program from alcoholics anonymous. Each bird represented one step toward her freedom while freeing herself from substance abuse.

After spending about three months in rehab Demi decided to get this tattoo to remind herself to think positive. She decided to tattoo it on her wrist where she used to cut herself so she was able to see it everyday. It is a symbol for growth and recovery.

How Bullying Impacts Someone Overtime

At a young age, bullying can take a toll on someone's mental and physical well-being. Whether there are scars or permanent, difficult memories. Depending on the situation, those memories will stick with you until you are a full grown adult. It will shape the way you will become.

Spread the love

It does not take much to make people happy. Spread positivity throughout your school, it makes a huge difference. Try this idea, post sticky notes throughout the school, on mirrors and your peers lockers, anywhere it may be seen! Even to those peers that you may not know personally. Spreading positive comments has a strong impact, it may change people's day, bring a smile to their face, or even make them feel better about themselves. Be the change, help make people's days.

Not all scars can be seen

The Bystander

The witness, hurtful bystanders encourage the bullying that is happening. Bystanders stand and watch, instigating the situation instead of standing up and helping the victim. Bullying may be encouraged by laughing and cheering the bully on, or even recording the bully making the bully feel the need to show off. Bystanders may also join the scene once it has started. Most bystanders accept the bullying and do nothing to help. Be a supportive bystander, offer help to the victim and report any form of bullying you witness to a trustworthy adult.

The Victim

The abused, children who are bullied suffer from anxiety, depression and many mood disorders that are caused by their unhappiness. The victims have a higher risk of suicide and are constantly experiencing peer rejection. Victims suffer from bullying daily. Befriend a victim and stay close, no one deserves to go through bullying without a friend.

The Bully

The abuser, inflicts unwanted emotions. Bullying is considered as a form of abuse. It creates unwanted pain and suffering to the victim. The abuser demonstrates their emotions through aggression. Address the abuser, learn to say NO!

Your laugh must never be the reason of someone's pain

Cyber bullies use the internet for all of the wrong purposes. Cyber bullying is using the internet to harass, threaten or embarrass others on social media. Teenagers and young adults are common victim of cyber bullying. Rumors spread on the internet very quickly, the internet may also be anonymous if you choose, making it difficult to trace down the bully.

Approximately 43% of students admit to experiencing cyber bullying throughout their lifetime. It is most common that girls post mean comments online while boys post hurtful pictures of videos online. Cyber bullying increases depression and lowers the victims self esteem. 1 in 6 teens reported receiving messages from people they did not know online, which caused them to feel scared and uncomfortable. 44% of youth have lied about their age in order to have access to online websites.

Cyber bullying can be prevented by:
Protecting your password
Keeping your profile appropriate
Do not communicate with unknown users
Allow access only to those you trust
Raise awareness
Be positive
Don't be a cyber bully

Bullying is Everywhere

Bullies do not always hurt victims verbally. Bullies are everywhere, beside you or even on the other side of your phone or computer screen. Bullying should be easy to identify. Before you say something mean, take a minute and think about how would the person react. Do not be a bully, be a friend.
